NON-ALLOWABLE MOVING ITEMS IN HOUSTON
As an Authorized Atlas Van Lines moving service, there are certain items non-allowable moving items in Houston and throughout the country. We cannot move them due to legal restrictions and safety concerns. First though, we should note that there are three types of non-allowable items: those we cannot move, those we will not move (except for under special circumstances), and items you must move yourself. Below is a brief guide to our moving service’s restricted items.
ITEMS WE CANNOT MOVE: HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
Due to the threat that hazardous materials have on goods and human safety, we cannot move the following materials:

- Loaded Guns
- Matches
- Motor Oil
- Nail Polish
- Nail Polish Remover
- Paint Thinner
- Paints
- Pesticides
- Poisons
- Pool Chemicals
- Propane Tanks
- Gun Reloading Supplies
- Scuba Tanks
- Sterno®
- Weed Killer
- Other flammable, corrosive, or explosive items
ITEMS WE WILL NOT MOVE: PERISHABLES
Under most circumstances, Specialized Movers does not transport materials that may die or spoil during transit. These include food items (fresh, frozen, refrigerated, or opened food products) as well as plants.
We may consider taking some perishable items under certain, very specific conditions. Special arrangements can be made for perishables if the client properly packs the, they require no servicing in transit, and the final destination is less than 150 miles and/or they can be delivered within 24 hours of pickup.
Items You Should Move: Personal Items
One should consider taking his/her particular items that hold a lot of sentimental value that cannot be replaced. While we transport all cargo with the utmost care, we cannot control for unforeseen problems, such as natural disasters or accidents. On the chance that your shipment should encounter a problem, it is best that you have your most important items with you.
